Prof. Dr. Stefan Wrobel, Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Intelligent Analysis and Information Systems IAIS in Sankt Augustin, Professor of Computer Science at the University of Bonn and one of the two speakers of ML2R, was selected as an expert in the field of Machine Learning.
Data Mining Toolbox RapidMiner is one of »ten important technologies« in German AI history
RapidMiner is a toolbox for data mining and Machine Learning. It has been developed since 2001 as »Yet Another Learning Environment« at the Chair of Artificial Intelligence of the TU Dortmund and has almost immediately enjoyed great popularity. In 2006 the company RapidMiner, associated partner of ML2R, was founded by Ingo Mierswa and Ralf Klinkenberg and meanwhile there are further locations in Great Britain and the USA. RapidMiner is characterized by the fact that users can specify extensions, operators and data analysis processes. RapidMiner has more than 500 operators, for example in the fields of text, web and data mining as well as mood and time series analysis. It has developed into one of the leading systems for pre-processing and data analysis and is used in many universities as well as in companies.
