Competence Center ML2R becomes the Lamarr Institute for Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence

As the Lamarr Institute for Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, the Competence Center ML2R will transition to long-term institutional funding as of July 1, 2022. The AI center of excellence with locations in Dortmund, Bonn and Sankt Augustin is dedicated to the value-based research and development of powerful, trustworthy as well as resource-efficient Artificial Intelligence.

With a joint in-person workshop on June 14, the Network of German AI Competence Centers and the French AI Research Network deepen their bilateral cooperation in the research field of Artificial Intelligence. The event at the Inria headquarters near Versailles was organized by the coordinators of the Franco-German AI cooperation, Katharina Morik and Isabelle Herlin.

Franco-German Workshop on Artificial Intelligence

With a joint in-person workshop on June 14, the Network of German AI Competence Centers and the French AI Research Network deepen their bilateral cooperation in the research field of Artificial Intelligence. The event at the Inria headquarters near Versailles was organized by the coordinators of the Franco-German AI cooperation, Katharina Morik and Isabelle Herlin.

More than 30 young scientists from the German Competence Centers for research on Artificial Intelligence met in February for a special edition of the network-wide established virtual Pitch Talks on the topic of Explainability of Artificial Intelligence. After presentations from the individual centers, the participants creatively and innovatively addressed current issues in this research area in the second part of the event.

Event on Explainability of Artificial Intelligence Strengthens Cooperation of German AI Centers

Strategic Partnership with Wilo

The pump manufacturer Wilo and the ML2R at TU Dortmund University have entered into a strategic partnership. The cooperation partners are working together with the aim of establishing and expanding the use of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at Wilo with regard to customer benefits, optimized business processes and new product functions.
