The North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences, Humanities and the Arts hosted the Academy Day of Artificial Intelligence. The event, which was organized by Prof. Dr. Katharina Morik, was dedicated to Machine Learning as a key technology of Artificial Intelligence.
As one of two contributions, the ML2R-paper »Prototypes within Minimum Enclosing Balls« was selected for the Best Paper Award at this year’s International Conference on Artificial Neural Networks (ICANN 2019).
The Society for Computer Science e. V. (GI) has chosen »ten influential minds« and »ten important technologies« in the history of German AI. Among the winners is our speaker Prof. Dr. Stefan Wrobel and our partner company Rapid Miner.
Dr. Nico Piatkowksi completed his doctorate on “Exponential Families on Resource-Constrained Systems” with distinction (summa cum laude). In addition, he received one of the dissertation prizes at the annual academic celebration.
